Biography

Yuehua Wu obtained her bachelor degree in Communication at Shanghai International Studies University. She went to the United States in 2001 and obtained her Master degree in Communication Management from University of Southern California and her Ph.D. degree in Media and Information Studies (formally as Mass Media) from Michigan State University. After obtaining her Ph.D. degree in 2010, she moved to Singapore and worked at Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University as a research fellow. In the fall of 2011, she worked as a lecturer in the study overseas program of University of Arizona (U.S.) in Nanjing. She joined SJTU in December of the same year.

Research Publications

Ph.D. thesis: Personal Information Protection in E-Government: Globalization or Global Localization? A Comparative Study between United States, Germany and China.

She has published works related to e-government, personal data protection and new media use such as online gaming effects. Specifically, for example, she has publishded in Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Government Information Quarterly, Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Educational Multimedia and Hypermedia, Chinese Journal of Communication and Electronic Library.
